Meet the Public- A Fashion and Art Installation

Fashion, Design and Art intsallation
going on now until November 14 at the Mercantile Lofts in Downtown LA
620 S. Main Street, Downtown Los Angeles
Last Thursday the bestie and I were able to check out the Meet the Public Installation in downtown presented by Fashion Los Angeles, and Two Point Oh LA.  Meet the Public is the perfect mix of fashion, design, and art in a gallery like setting.   There are many designers, labels, and lines being presented ranging from jewelry, sunglasses, clothing, books, and much MUCH more. For a complete list click HERE
Above is Cindy Gellersen designer and founder of BAGSTIL handbags.  These handbags are beautiful and completely practical.  One of my favorite features are the interchangeable interior "snap" pockets that can be used throughout all of the Bagstil handbags.  These snap pockets make it fairly easy and convenient for any "busy bee" to switch from purse to purse in a "snap".  All of Bagstil handbags are made of
Borello leather (washed sheepskin) and are handcrafted in the Los Angeles area, a major plus.

Nana Bijou and her amazing Jewelry!
Shivaloka Jewelry
Belts from designer Lisa Michelle.  Lisa is mainly an a apparel designer, but I was completely blown away by her belts, and statement neck pieces that can be worn with her designs as well as with simple tees and dresses.  To see more of Lisa's accessories and her complete collection check her out at http://www.lisamichellecollection.com/
Polka dots, spikes, pastel shades, leather, bows.... all part of  Chelsea Rebelles' Spring/ Summer "Deviltown" collection
such an amazing skirt by Chelsea Rebelle
Pictured above is Juan Chavez founder and creative director of Seam Ripper modeling his handmade harnesses made entirely out of safety pins.  I am totally loving the concept behind Seam Ripper.  Juan Chavez and David Jordan the two founders of Seam Ripper have taken standard tees, and hoodies and stepped them up to the next level  by eliminating and rearranging seams and style lines.   All Seam Ripper  tees and T-shirts feature a raw edge, plus one or more little tweaks that make these tees sooo much better than your average tee.

My favorite tee from Seam Ripper is the tee above with the screen print of two girls with masks on, the tee has no side seams, and  features the Seam Ripper signature princess seams on the back...amazing right!
notice the raw edges, and the lower hem in front and longer in the back, my personal fave!

Meet the Public is the perfect presentation combining art and fashion.  Believe me when I say that there is  lots, LOTS more to see including a lot more art, furniture, and amazing fashion goods.  You definitely need to stop by and check out Meet the Public for yourself , you have until November 14, so don't miss it!!
